Mommy and the Moby

I love this idea of baby wearing. A completely new concept for me as I did not know about this when Emily and J.Michael were little. Best of all Calvin loves it! Emily took some great pictures of me trying out the Moby wrap for the first time. Kathlena joins us for some cute pictures.

I am feeling great after one week of rest and trying to continue resting for the FULL two weeks my midwife prescribed. It is hard though as I am starting to feel like I can resume some "normal" tasks. It has been such a blessing to have meals brought to us from our loving church families ( we have loved tasting new foods and gathering recipes!) and friends and having David home for two weeks also. A wonderful time of our new family bonding.

Calvin has let us have 4 hours of sleep at a time at night which feels like a luxury after the first few nights of 2 hours or less. The wee hours with Calvin have been sweet time for David and I that the loss of sleep is worth it (at least for a little while, :)) Calvin is a very calm, easy going baby. He hardly cries except for some of his diaper changes or when he is hungry and even then he is easily calmed down. He loves to be held which is good as we have so many "holders" around here.

This time of Calvin being little passes so quickly that I am determined to drink it all up and soak in this sweet time with my little one and enjoy having all of us together. Late nights of big brother Bubbie holding Calvin or big sister Mimi playing with him in "alert" night time or Andrew holding and kissing on him or early mornings with Kathlena talking to him and asking lots of questions about him all sweet memories that each of his siblings will never forget. Soon enough we will all have to get back to our schedules, but for now it seems time is standing still for our little family...at least for a few more days.
Peek-a-boo I see you Calvin

Calvin loves the Moby

Funny Calvin and Moby story. We were in the garden picking peppers. Calvin was so quiet that I forgot he was there momentarily. Well, I picked up a branch to pick more peppers and Calvin made his "raccoon" noise. I dropped the branch as I thought something was under it. I quickly realized it was just Calvin and not a real crazy raccoon! Yes, Calvin got me pretty good. :)

4 Days Old...First Family Bible Study

Daddy and Calvin using the Moby Wrap.

Calvin's first time to participate in our family's Bible study.

Sorry for the lack of pictures, I took some video today which I will try and post soon. :)
