This is our family blog. By God's grace we are striving to live as Deuteronomy 6 commands. "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."

A New Look...for the girls
Here is Mom sporting her new look. I like it Mom. Kathlena below with her first pair of glasses. She picked them out herself...purple of course. ;) I didn't think it was possible for Kathlena to look any cuter, but she does. Best of all it seems she can see better and seeing small things like bugs in a new light. Exciting times for Kathlena. A whole new world just opened up for her...yeah!

"Little Prairie on the House"
Daddy took Kathlena and I (Emily) to see the Little House on the Prairie Play at the Hobby Center starring Melissa Gilbert as 'Ma'. Kathlena called it "Little Prairie on the House" and I'm not really sure what she was expecting to see but we all had a great time. :) We met up with some friends for a Father/Daughter dinner at the Cheesecake factory before the play.
From there we caravaned to the play, there was a twenty minute intermission between acts 1 & 2 and us girls got to talking about the play. Everything was so beautifully done, the casting, the set, the music, the lighting, the effects and we all agreed that it was the closest thing we had seen to the books. We all went home wanting to read the series all over again.
We all had dressed up for the occasion and had our pictures taken outside.
Kathlena loved wearing her "fonnet"

Curly Girls
The girls had me french braid both of their hair (should have gotten a picture of that but didn't). It was so cute. After wearing that for a while they decided to go curly so we took out the braids and here is what they looked like. I can hardly believe how long Kathlena's hair is now just 16 months later see picture here.
Emily just loves having a little sister and she is such a great big sister. I am so thankful to the Lord for giving Emily and us our hearts desire for more children through adoption. We are all now waiting for our newest precious gift from the womb...my cup runneth over. While I can hardly wait for the baby to come these are sweet days of our family of 6 together that will be transformed into a family 7 quickly. I am holding each day dear.
Especially ordinary moments like this that can so easily pass by without capturing this sweetness of childhood and sisterhood.
